What kind of recipes do you actually make?

There are so many recipes on the internet. Millions of them, in fact.

It can be pretty overwhelming.

And while many of the recipes you can find on pinterest (did you know that almost 1/3 of pins are of recipes?!*), your favorite recipe or your favorite recipe site are great dishes that are inspiring and actually cookable, a lot of recipes are not and are on the web to be pretty pictures and 'food porn.'

While there's nothing wrong with that it does mean that if you browse some recipes sites you'll run into a lot of dishes that only someone with 8 hours and a degree from the Culinary Institute of America can put together - and even if it is simple enough to make, no one will want to try it because it's too exotic.

At Chicory we're trying to create a database of recipes that you'll actually want to cook - things that aren't so silly or so hard to make or use ingredients that are so weird or difficult to find that it takes a Top Chef or Anthony Bourdain to make it (and we're lucky because all of our bloggers have amazing recipes that are great for weekday suppers and fancy Sunday meals too).

This doesn't mean that we only have recipes that are super easy to make and nothing adventurous - it just means we have actual cooking in mind :)

Here are some recipes that aren't #foodporn . They're real meals that you can make for anyone in your family or any of your friends - and isn't that what cooking is all about?
