Time is a precious commodity these days. This is especially
true for people who love to cook. I recently asked my sister, Gina, to help out
Chicory by making a couple of dishes and blogging about them.
After looking over a list of recipes, she asked if she could
make Maple Salmon and the Southwestern Style Shrimp Taco Salad.
A few days later I received this email from her:
"Hey Joey,
I only have time to make one recipe this week.
I have bio class from 6-9pm on Mon & Wed, so my only nights to cook are
Tues & Thurs and tomorrow night I'm flying to San Francisco. All this is to
say I made the Maple Salmon last night, but won't be able to make the shrimp
tacos. I took a bunch of pics and
attached them to this email. […]
attached them to this email. […]
If you need anything else about the recipe just let me know.
Not sure how much time I'll have to respond since the next couple days are a
bit hectic, but I'll try!"
Chicory is designed with the busy home cook in
mind. With Chicory, Gina maybe could have made that second dish.
We all know that eating homemade is less expensive and
healthier than going out, bringing in, or heating up food. But making a
homemade meal is still hard. If even my sister (a pretty organized person who cooks homemade food 6 nights a week) struggles with this issue, I'm sure that there are lots of people out there who could use an extra hand from time to time with picking out what to make and actually shopping for the ingredients.
Also, check out Gina's blog "Brunch For Bitches." It has a ton of awesome recipes and tips for the home cook. Enjoy :)
Happy Cooking!
